Go by taxi | Andar en taxi

As in most countries, taxis are the easiest form of transport for foreign visitors: you can just get in and name your destination. But these phrases make the experience smoother and friendlier all round. All the phrases below use the more formal usted form, which is appropriate for talking to someone you don’t know well.
 ¿Dónde hay una parada de taxi? = Where is there a taxi rank?
¿Cuánto cuesta desde acá hasta la Ciudad Vieja? = How much is it from here to the Old City?
La esquina de Avenida Belgrano y Defensa, por favor. = The corner of Avenida Belgrano and Defensa, please.
¿Me podría ayudar con el equipaje? = Could you help me with my luggage?
¡Estoy apurado/apurada! = I’m in a hurry!
Es acá a la derecha / a la izquierda. = It’s here on the right / on the left.
Es en la próxima cuadra. = It’s in the next block.
Me puede dejar acá. = You can drop me off here.
¿Tiene cambio por cien pesos? = Do you have change for a hundred?
